The Tybee Pier & Pavilion is located just off U.S. Highway 80 at the end of Tybrisa Street. There are picnic tables, snack bar and public restrooms located on the pier. There are various events and festivals held on the pier throughout the year. It is open daily with free admission. The Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion is a great place for fishing.

The original Tybrisa Pier & Pavilion was built in 1891 and stood for three-quarters of a century as a landmark on the South Atlantic Ocean but in 1967 fire destroyed it. The new pier and pavilion was built in August 1996.

Tybee Beach

Tybee Island is about 20 minutes from historic downtown Savannah. The tiny island, which is 3.5 miles long, has six miles of beach, has long been a quiet getaway for the residents of Savannah. It is a great tourist destination. Tybee Island is rich in both history and natural beauty. It is also famous for its diverse cuisine, excellent accommodations, and a variety of exciting recreational activities.

Both children and adults will enjoy exploring the island’s three miles of public beach. The salt marshes are teeming with birds and wildlife unique to south eastern Georgia’s coast. If you enjoy fishing you will be happy to find that Tybee Island has many different options for you! There are fishing piers, off shore and deep sea charters, or you can fish right in the surf!
