The Tybee Lighthouse has been guiding mariners safely through the entrance to the Savannah River for over 270 years. The Tybee Island Light Station is one of America’s most intact having all of its historic support buildings on its five-acre site. The lighthouse stands 9 feet tall. Plan to take one of the small private tours after business hours. The tour last about ninety minutes and includes a climb to the top of the lighthouse to experience a beautiful Tybee Island sunset. For reservations call 912-786-5801
Also plan to visit the Tybee Museum which was established in 1961.
