The tour is approximately 1.5 hours, covers 3 batteries and is .8 miles.

The batteries are cement structures and the walls are anywhere from 4-11 feet thick. Sand was taken from the beach and pushed up the front of the structure facing the coast. This made the fortification look like a sand dune. The barrel of a rifle cannon peaked over the very top of the structure – always at the ready for defense against any invading forces.
