21) Tybee Island
Tybee Island is about 20 minutes from historic downtown Savannah. The tiny island, which is 3.5 miles long, has six miles of beach, has long been a quiet getaway for the residents of Savannah. It is a great tourist destination. Tybee Island is rich in both history and natural beauty. It is also famous for its diverse cuisine, excellent accommodations, and a variety of exciting recreational activities.
Both children and adults will enjoy exploring the island’s three miles of public beach. The salt marshes are teeming with birds and wildlife unique to south eastern Georgia’s coast.
